Mostly food shopping done here today and now to finish off pillowslips for the childrens ward at Joondalup Hospital; made from beautiful fabric from Textile Traders and also from Katj; many thanks Katj your fabric is being put to good use. I have also finished the top of a quilt to go to the womens refuge; more to come. Lovely prize Katj.

Interesting to hear of the physio; Dr want me to go and have some on my arm but I opted to try to strap it first for a try.

Not a lot done here but did make two loaves of Spicy Banana Bread yesterday with the help of 5 yr old and half was eaten before they went to bed so that was a hit. Its the second lot I have made for them this week.

I think I will wait for a microwave special Chookie;

Katj I do remember those clothes props; all my childhood that was the type of clothes line we had. Must try Aldi when I get the courage.

Fantastic cake Kimmyh; will have to show my GD as she is getting into cake decorating and doing very nicely for a 12 yr old.

Chookie I have made the first batch of horseshoe rolls; the horse was a bit deformed though as some of the middle part of the rolls joined up as they were cooking. That said; they were very tasty. I did as you said and used the Vienna recipe. DH said they could have been browner and crustier on top but he did like them. Will try your No Fuss recipe for the next batch and also try the egg wash on top. My shaping was the biggest problem. Thanks for the help; it is much appreciated.

I would have loved a dryer when we lived in Northam and the children were small but couldn't afford one until we returned to Perth to live and now it is just used for finishing off things if they feel a bit damp in the winter. It also fluffs up the towels and makes them nice and soft as our water here, from local bores, is a bit hard on the towels.

Went out today to buy a new microwave and came home with two sets of nice thick towels instead. Microwave will wait for another day; its only used to heat the what bag for DH anyway.

Thanks Cookie; I have done those rolls but not as horseshoes.

Chookie I haven't been to Turnkey but these rolls were popular when I first went out to work. They were the shape and size (about) of a horseshoe and had poppyseeds on the top. From memory, and that is quite a while ago, they were crispy on the outside and I think soft in the middle (not absolutely sure about the middle). We usually bought them as ham and salad rolls.

All this lovely cooking and I am not doing much as DH is not to have much in the way of cakes etc. now. Made bread rolls today though and he asked me to make some horseshoe rolls like we used to buy. Has anyone ever made them as I am not sure if they are just a bread rolls recipe with poppy seeds or is the mixture different. Would love to hear from anyone who knows.

Glad to heard you are having a good time Cookie; we used to live a bit further to the left from where you are staying in the Park and the sand flies used to rush out of the mangroves every day and try and eat me alive. Keep safe and well.

I didn't buy it but received a Pete Evans one pot recipe book for my birthday and it looks really good. You don't have to follow his no grains idea. Also my daughter has ordered Teninas latest book for my birthday so am really looking forward to that arriving in the post as I love her books.
