Well done JulieO - great to see you using the Varoma(my best friend) - can't believe you haven't used him before.

The salmon recipe is one of Shayla's favs from memory.  Zabaglione is one of mine.

Hope you do lots more Varoam recipes.

Did you have a Varoma demo? - what did they cook?

I went to a Varoma demo on Saturday night.  He cooked the chicken and veal meatloaf with veg (wasn't that keen on it, but I liked how the veg was cooked) and a steamed loaf in the Varoma.  The rest was using the TM bowl, Curried chickpea & Lentil stew from Budget Busters, rice, spreadable butter, Jaffa & chocolate custard (nice).

Julie.

It is one of my favourites and we are making it tonight - with 2kg of Chilean Salmon - needing a bit of extra time.
Looking forward to my supper - strawberries and homemade ice-cream for dessert (salted maple caramel).
Got to make a lot of bread in the next few days as we are off to Kagga Kamma - no shops for 60km - for a week on Friday.
www.kaggakamma.co.za. I am planning to go just for the weekend husband and friend from Germany staying the whole week.

Hi all
I don't think I've posted for a few days.  In that time we've made - porridge, Cyndi's breakfast smoothie, choc chip cookies, Jo's Spelt Challah bread, curried veg fritters, coleslaw - and maybe more.

I haven't used my Varoma at all yet, I'm too brain dead at the moment from work, uni, business, kids etc that I'm not cooking too much new stuff at this point.  Once November hits, I'll be finished uni and have more time and brain space.

I can't seem to find the Cindi's Cinnamon Rolls thread that I got this recipe off this morning, so I'll just put up photo here. This is going to be a real hit at out place. A little more mucking around then I'm used to but easy. I did add a smidge more milk than the recipe said. :)

Ooh, I'd love one of those with a coffee.  ;D

Today I made the Chickpea & Spinach soup from the  Full Steam Ahead book. Again, this was delicious! So smooth and such a lovely yellow colour.  I also made the steam bread to have with it.  :)

Tom's had a busy night.....he made the crust for my herb crusted lamb racks.....then made strawberry jam and has just finished making a yellow cake to replace the banana/choc chip cake that was for the kids lunches tomorrow until my husband realised that he had forgotten it was his turn to provide supper at tennis tonight.  My yummy looking banana cake walked out the door with the tennis player much to my kids disgust.  Tom has been a lifesaver this last week and a bit while I've been working very long hours....don't know how I ever managed without him.

Have a great night
Stacey

breakfast risotto for breaky, Batch of Washing Goo this morning, chocolate yogo for after school, then steamed veg for dinner and dough for cheesymites tonight....I think that is all today. It really does happen so quick that sometimes you forget what you have made as there has been no effort in doing it all lol

Kathryn, could I bother you for the recipe you use for the cheesymites? I tried the bread dough but the kids weren't overly excited by it. Also the yogo sounds good if you could also post that recipe it would be appreciated.
Thanks. Nadine

Termite has been having a mini holiday. He has only been used to make white sauces and cook the dinner vegies. I need a bit of a shove to get myself going at the moment. I have been baking lots of breads and that's about all. Feeling a bit apathetic and must get myself into gear and have a nice big cook up. That will sort me out.

This morning green smoothie - my first

with two handfuls of greens (can't remember the name)
1 kiwi fruit
1 green apple
approx 1 small frozen banana
handful of macadamias
water

made approx 2 large cups worth and was very yummy

Over the last days
I made Quirkycooking spelt challah with all wholemeal spelt - came out very brown. yummy but not to my DD liking unoftunately will have to try another spelt bread recipe for her.
Another load of vege stock paste
Muffins
sorbet
choc custard

Had delicious chicken cacciatori (recipe from an old thermobiz newsletter) and rice made in spanners machine last night. Along with a watermelon and ginger smoothie. Oh and a frozen - avocado key lime cheesecake/pie Yummo made by Mrs spanner in the thermomix.

tomorrow we are doing a stall at the school fete selling sorbets - money for school fundraising
hopefully a bit of promotion for us as demonstrators
