Dinner Spinner Recipe Review - Pork Filled Savoury Pancakes
« on: February 01, 2012, 07:21:55 am »
I wasn't sure I'd like this recipe but I thought I'd try something different and give it a go.

It was actually quite delicious and perfect for summer.

The recipe says it serves 10 but I would say it only serves 3 as i the mixture makes 5-6 pancakes.  the pancakes are thin and easy to roll.

the pork mince smelt delicious as it was cooking away.

sweet chilli is a perfect accompaniment however everything falls out if you dip it in there so it's best to put it on mince before rolling.

will be making this recipe again.

I nearly made these tonight cos it is so hot and they are just so tasty…you need to add some salad or something, but YUMMO…your pic looks so inviting.
I think it says makes 10 pancakes though, not 10 servings??? Not sure, and cannot get up off the bed to find out! hahaha

Tenina i had a look again and the recipe says 10-12 servings. Regardless, i only got 5 pancakes out of the mixture. I did read you need salad, etc with them but too lazy for that. Still delicious though. Will be trying a few more recipes over the next few days - most have been great!

Rara - i can't see where it serves six. On the pork selection page it says serves 10-12. You will enjoy them.

This is Berry's review from another thread
December 07, 2011

I made the Pork Mince Savoury Pancakes last night... yummmmm!

Couldn't believe just how quick and easy they were, and they would be very adaptable to whatever ingredients are on hand.

Can't wait to try the rest of the book!

Great dish and so very quick after arriving home form work at an unreasonable hour - thanks Tenina - 12 panckaes from the mixture with the last 3 being eaten with Kecap Manis only+ salad.  Tasty after pouring a small amount onto a hot pan, be sure to swirl the mixture around - perhaps that will help!!!

I've got this on my menu tonight except I've got chicken mince as I couldn't find pork mince yesterday. Can't wait to try it.

I made these again today and I did get a thinner pancake by swirling after putting in but only 5. There must be something else I do wrong.

Regardless, still enjoy the taste! :)

You sound as if you need a pancake maker Tasty - just like me.  I am hopeless at cooking them in a frying pan, too thick.
