Should I buy a Second bowl and Blade set?
« on: July 25, 2011, 10:50:03 am »
I'm thinking of getting a second bowl and blade set with my tax refund (When I get it) and I am just wondering who else has a second set and if you find it useful or should I just make do with what I have.?

In a word Mandi - YES  :D
I used to read people saying they had one and wondered why they would possibly need one when you can only have one bowl at a time in place.  Then I started making bread and leaving it to rise in the bowl and could see the merit in having a spare so I bought one.  Just love it now with the 2 and if I forget to grate the cheese or something else and I am well into the cooking, I have the second one to whip on there and do it. So, if you can afford it I would definitely get one.

YES, I use my two bowls everyday, even if it just means getting something else cooking while I wash up the other bowl. 2nd best thing I have bought( obviously Thermie being number one)

Mandi,  I use my second bowl every day.  With all those mouths to feed it would be a good investment.

Mandi, I paid full price for mine and didn't realise it came with a steaming basket and butterfly as well - 2 things I didn't really need as I have a spare butterfly already just in case I forget and go over the speed and wreck it.  Can't see any reason to have 2 steaming baskets either.  Just wondering if you asked how much it would be without those items if the price would be cheaper.  One of our consultants would know the answer to that I'm sure.

I don't think all the bowls come with a basket and butterfly - when I got mine, my friend's box didn't have the butterfly and basket and they were ordered at the same time.

I would go for it Mandi. There are so many times when a second bowl would be handy.  I would love one - perhaps tax time next year.

My tax cheque this year (actually DH's cheque ;)) is going toward the surprise TM I am buying for my Mum.  I'm over half way there with my savings now. Woohoo! :)

Mine came with the butterfly and basket , I agree with you Judy. Prefer to pay less and just get bowl and blade.

I will have to find out about that then. My sister is a consultant so I will get her to ask for me. Maybe I should wait to see if they bring out the cheaper second set again but that could be a long time away. Will see when my tax cheque arrives.
