Sorry Wonder I don't have a date & nut loaf tmx recipe.  I haven't made one since before my tmx days.  Just saw the tin and thought yes I need one of those only to find out that my old recipe which was made the old fashioned way  needs two tins :-)) :-)) :-))  The recipe is below and should be easy enough to convert.

DATE & NUT LOAF

1 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup walnuts - optional
1/2 cup sultanas
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon carb soda
1 tablespoon butter

Pour over 1 cup boiling water and mix well.
Add 1 beaten egg
2 cups SR flour

Mix only until well blended then pour into two well greased nut loaf tins, replace lids and stand upright on the bottom shelf of oven.

Bake 170 - 180 deg for 50 - 60 mins.

Freezes well

Great shopping everyone. I like the sound of the adjustable rolling pin ( assuming you can adjust the thickness of your pastry etc).  My favourite cooking stuff shop has a lovely cafe in the middle.  It's amazing how it entices the guys, ofcourse they get left sipping and munching while the ladies go spending.  Better still it's my local.

It seems that it was a mega shopping day yesterday with most online retailers having 20 - 30% off everything so I thought I should do my bit and get in quick before they all finished at midnight. I'm not a fan of online shopping normally and will most likely need to take some things back, but picked up quite a few clothing items from Decjuba, new fancy sneakers (as opposed to ones to wear for sport) for myself and DS, and some new expensive running pants for me. All things I've been looking at purchasing so it was great to get them all on sale. DS is particularly excited as he's been invited to a party being held by the most popular kid at school (him and 150 of the boys closest mates!! :o)  and he's already planning what he's going to wear 4 weeks out and the new sneakers were a big part of the outfit - I still find it strange that the boys at 15 are as into fashion as the girls, but it makes him happy and gives him confidence so happy to indulge him a little.  :D

I'm the same Katj, I think it's crazy to have that many at parties but it seems to be what they do, I'm  very glad I'm not trying to keep an eye on them all. No doubt they will have security etc. but teenagers can be very sneaky. My DS hasn't wanted a party since gong to high school because the pressure is just to great, I think it's a bit sad but also glad we haven't had to try and come to a compromise.

CP  the rolling pin comes with four discs of varying size which screw onto the end of the rolling pin.  You select the size you want and roll out your pastry etc to that thickness.  It's suitable for pastry, biscuits, pizzas etc.  I haven't used it yet just saw it and bought it.

Leather anything is a good investment IMHO.  Nice wallet ES. Not shabby cookie, vintage ;)

This is my latest splurge to keep all my bits and pieces together while travelling.
