Recipe Review Creamy Pork with Apples & Rosemary Pge 88 MOTM
« on: March 20, 2011, 08:03:37 am »
Took the option of using pork loin in this recipe today and although it is an easy recipe to prepare, it left a little to be desired tastewise.  It was 'different' DH said but although it was edible it is not something I would do again. It was way too thick so I added some more cream, I cut down on the EVOO and added 1 tsp vegetable stock concentrate to try and add more flavour.

Thanks for the review Judy - that will be 1 less from my 'to try' pile (which like all on here continues to grow exponentially with the number of forum visits.   :)

We still had leftovers from last night and I must admit it was a little better tonight after the flavours (especially with the added VSC) had been given a chance to meld.  Still too thick though.

Nicky, does this recipe for Savoury Pork appeal?  Or this one for Tropical Pork Curry?

I decided to give this recipe a try last night without having looked here first like I usually do!

We really loved it.  I used pork as well.  I didn't do anything else differently from the recipe but I've noticed that my sauce is a lot darker than the one in your pic judydawn.

I served it with the Italian style mashed potatoes that are in My Way of Cooking and some veggies cooked on the stove top.

The only thing I'd do different next time is cook the pork for 10 minutes instead of 15 as a few of the pieces had become a little bit tough by this stage.
