Recipe Review - Spicy Green Beans with Coconut
« on: January 07, 2010, 03:39:11 am »
From Fast and Easy Indian Cooking:

Very tasty, needed a salt added. I used tomato paste instead of tomato puree.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

We have had this several times at Thermomix meals and it looks great when served with all the trimmings.  I left off the garnish of sliced fresh tomato, so ours didn't look as pretty as it should have, but in the context of a table full of dishes all cooked in one TMX with guest conversation modifying my concentration, I was pleased with this dish.  It was easy to cook and it tasted delicious.  Do try it.

Just made this and I was disappointed.... I felt it was missing some flavour.
I used tomato puree, so perhaps I should have used paste instead?
And probably should have a bit of additional salt too...

Yes, if you read my post it says it needs salt and use tomato paste.

This is a great side dish.  Doesn't look pretty but appearance doesn't matter when it tastes so good.

Definitely use tomato paste and season accordingly.
