BBQ Sauce Extra Ingredients
Add 4tbls soy sauce and 100g sugar (I used rapadura).

Instructions Continued
Cook for 30 minutes at 100deg speed 1.
Check seasoning etc is to taste.  Add sugar, salt, pepper etc if desired.
Mix cornflour with a little water to make a paste.  Add to  *: and cook 100deg speed 1 4 mins.

Sauce will thicken further upon cooling, so don't thicken too far.

This recipe is a combination of a magazine recipe (I think it was Women's Health October 09 issue) which was a little simple, and some extra ingredients inspired by Nico Moretti's Bourbon BBQ Sauce.

Thanks for that Cathy - been going to make BBQ sauce for a while - this might kick me into gear.  ;)

Good work - like the variation with the soy and sugar for some extra character.

I made this sauce yesterday and forgot to put the tomato paste in it  :-)) :-))  Tastes just fine to me without it but I imagine it would be richer if I had put it in.

Do you mean by adding some milk to thin it down curly?  I wouldn't as is as it would be too thick and too strong for soup. There are tomato soup recipes in the soup thread which may be more suitable.
