Back from holidays so I hope I can now post my photo of my lovely SS presents.  It will be immediately obvious who my SS is and my thanks once again, for your lovely gift.

As you can see, I got my chair to model the apron.  The calendar was produced by a friend of my SS and personally signed by her as well.

CC - you were quick off the mark ... I was trying to download a better image and before I could do that you had posted your response, so I have managed to get my post out of order!  But you are right, it is a lovely gift.

I wondered how CC could comment on your gift before the actual picture was posted Marina . I'm glad you explained it otherwise I would have thought CC had ESP ;D  A lovely gift.

Lovely gift Marina.

Today I've made ricotta using my Mad Millie cheese making kit I received from SS. I thought I should start with the easiest recipe in the kit. It said to heat the milk to 95 degrees in a pan whilst stirring the whole time. I thought "no" and decided my TMX could do a better job of that than me!

I've not made ricotta before, it was easy and I'm now wanting to make Helene's ricotta recipe to compare.  I'm going to use the ricotta to make ricotta gnocchi from In The Mix for dinner.

Thanks SS again for my gift. I think I'll make mozzarella next.

I've made ricotta before but can't wait to hear how the mozzarella goes. Your ricotta looks lovely Katie.

I love Helene's ricotta recipe as it is so easy. You will wonder why you ever bought cottage cheese or ricotta.

Katie I have that same kit. Like you it was a gift. I use helene's Tmx method but follow the kit recipe for ricotta. Works a treat every time. The best tip is to lay cheesecloth over varoma Tray to drain the ricotta. I haven't made mozzarella yet. Don't know why. Good luck.
Lovely gifts Marina.

Lovely Ricotta Katie. I am thinking of making some today using Helenes method as there is a lovely pasta  recipe in the beautiful Recipe book I got from my SS.
