Egg whites
« on: September 02, 2014, 12:44:52 am »
I just made ice cream which required 2 egg yolks. What do I do with the whites? Can they be frozen?
Thanks.

Yes the egg whites can be frozen. I freeze mine in small plastic containers and label them with the number of egg whites. You can then defrost them when you have accumulated enough for a recipe like these yummy friands http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6102.0 or this yummy cool treat http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2697.0

Good advice ES. I make those friands too. They are yummy.
I got over saving egg whites and forgetting that they were in the freezer. I just never seemed to get around to using all of the. So now I make my icecream with 2 whole eggs. I think it's nicer and I don't need to deal with spare whites.

That's a good idea Kimmy.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
