Tandoori Chicken 2009 Calendar

Tandoori Chicken
I make this with breasts as we prefer them to thighs, but either would be lovely.
This is really flavoursome and great served with the naan bread.

Here's the recipe & comments posted on Taste.com.au for the Tandoori paste INAID.  I haven't got the 2009 calendar so not sure what how you cook the chicken once you have marinated it in this mixture.

2 cloves garlic
2 chillies (I only use 1)
1 onion
2 tablespoons olive oil
1cm fresh ginger, peeled
juice 1 lime
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
cayenne to taste
pinch each of sumac and saffron
2 tablespoons paprika for colour
2 tablespoons tumeric
70g tomato paste
100g greek yogurt

Place all ingredients into bowl and saute 3 minutes at 100 degrees on speed 3. Leave to cool.
Add yoghurt and cook for 2 minutes on 100 on speed 1.

This in then ready to be used on chicken. I don't use it all in one go, and keep the rest in the fridge. I try to use the leftovers within a couple of weeks.

INAID here is the rest of the instructions.

Rub mixture into the skin of the chicken and leave to marinate for a few hours or overnight.
Cook under hot grill for around 10 minutes or until cooked.
Serve with steamed rice, salad and naan.

I actually bake mine. But next time I think I will use the AF.
