Gayle I hope you enjoy the production. Actually, that is silly, I know you will

Poor Lily, I do hope she is up and joyful soon.

I spent most of today doing car club stuff as our big rally is only a month away. Lots of preparation for the 120 or so cars and 300 participants.

I haven't been doing too much these past few days. I broke my upper left arm  last Saturday. Out walking with my husband, I slipped on some wet foliage, put my arms out to break the fall and that was that.  Because the bones were stable. ( still in line) they don't operate or set in plaster. Just in a sling for comfort but not absolutely essential.

That's bad luck Katj, I guess your arm will be out of action for quite a while?

Speedy recovery Katj

I want to build stables for my boys and I've been waiting 2 months for 2 stable quotes to come in. Finally after some not so gentle reminders I got them both.
Gob smacked is what I was when I saw them.
Oh my lordy, anyone would think I was building the gold plated taj-mah-hootchie for my boys, complete with day spa - for them and me, and a full time live-in poop shoveller.
Number 1 was in excess of $76k and had more fruit than the Spud Shed on delivery day, some varieties I have never heard of before and the 2nd was over $53k and I am pretty sure he didn't quote it off the drawing I sent him as he has missed some vital bits I wanted and slapped in a whole lot I didn't want.  :o
So I am peeved, shocked, amazed and astounded that someone in the construction industry thinks I am a complete numpty and will just go with what they've sent me.
Needless to say I have not contacted either of them as I have nothing nice to say (still haven't quite calmed down in 2 days) and I am contacting other builders to see what they come up with.

Hope Lily is feeling better Suzanne  :)

Katj, such bad luck, hoping it heals quickly for you.

Nikkit, hopefully the other builders can come up with something closer to what you are wanting.  Seems a heck of a lot of money for stables.

Poor Katyj. You dodged a bullit.  Take the drugs!

Nikkit that is hysterical. So what do the horses want? Best to talk to them and let tem talk to the builder then they get it straight from the horses mouth!

I do hope you will have underfloor heating . A proper toileting area for instant no hands removal of offensive material with spreading automatically onto your veggie garden.  They will need automatic feeders by remote and a self walk through washing and buffing machine. Not to mention the good night book reading with soft music and mood lighting.

Goodness should should get all that for about $5.98 plus GST!  Least they could do. More might cost you a tender!

Bloody robbers.

Katj what a horrid thing to happen. As Gert said take the drugs.

Nikkit! I can't imagine what would be in your boy's homes for that price. Could you simply get a brickie to build what was required and then fit it out yourself. Do they have electric blankets for horses?

Nikkit, most builders are so expensive, keep looking around.

Yeah I know I know - I spoil my boys rotten :-))

I think this may be a bit more for me than them though, and hubby is hanging out for my float to get out of the garage and all my gear out of the shed so he can have a bit more room. (Probably won't hurt for me to go through it all anyway I have one rideable horse and 5 saddles  :o ;D and I won't count anything else out there! )

Will await the next couple of quotes and see what they come in at. If they are anything like the first 2 the boys will be out of luck, and so will hubby as everything will stay where it is!

CP - I'd love to sit the blokes that did the quotes on an electric fence and see if they change their tune!
