INAID I really enjoyed Cooktown when we visited. Dad had been sent there for R & R during the war and we looked at places he spoke of. I love the lookout there too. Also standing at the river mouth and thinking about Cook's ship coming in for repairs.

Looks lovely INAID. I've never been to Cooktown, will have to put it down on my holiday wish list.  :)

Another shift at work. Got bumped to Daystay - a change is as good as a holiday and a refreshing change it was. Nice place to visit but will be glad to be back to my comfort zone tomorrow.  :D

Tidied the house and changed the linen after GD,s 3 and 4 went home.
Then went to see GD 2 in the opening performance of The Wizard of Oz put on by a local youth drama group.  They did a great job and still have 11 more performances to go.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Inart, thanks for the pics, brings back a few more memories!

My hubby sailed into Cooktown late one night, wind was blowing a gale, engine on the yacht was intermittent at best, tide was out and as he radioed the harbourmaster he said "sorry you won't get in, you draw to much and the tide is out". Hubby replied "I'm coming in do or die, it's blowing a gale out here and have no where to anchor up for the night, need repairs done, see you soon!"   He laid the yacht over just a bit more, sailed in and tied up at the wharf. I don't think the harbourmaster was overly impressed, our dog was sea sick and very much over the other guy on board, hubby was glad to be on solid ground and able to fix a few things, I was happily living it up in a hotel (paid for by work!) ... til he arrived at Yorkey's Knob and I had to clean up after them being 2 weeks at sea, 2 blokes and a dog. Not pretty!
