What are you cooking today?

Here is the link for the Lemon and Lime Cake. http://www.theannoyedthyroid.com/2017/06/22/lemon-and-lime-loaf-with-crunchy-topping/

I reduced the sugar to 150g and didn't put the topping on it. The mob tell me it is plenty sweet enough for them.

Very nice I think Judy. I don't usually ice cakes for home.

I thought I'd make a small cake for Geoff's birthday on Thursday - neither of us eat much cake so this one looks perfect and looks so light and fluffy cookie.

Roast vegetable frittata, creamy vegetables with pasta, chickpea and vegetable casserole and some chocolate chip and cornflake cookies.

If Geoff likes lemon things Judy I'm sure he will enjoy this.

I won't need to make one now cookie.  Once a month they have a birthday party for all the birthday people for that month, this month it happens to be right on the day of Geoff's so they will have cakes there and I get let off the hook LOL.  I'd still like to make that one though, from your photo it has such a beautiful texture.

A friend had his birthday today. We popped over this morning with a tiny gift and took coffee. We had to laugh as both his daughters had included exactly the same as us in his birthday gift !

I made a loaf of bread today and made some Swiss meringue buttercream and then used that to pipe some swirls and decorate a Unicorn cake that DD started yesterday. It was fun but time consuming.

Thanks, Chookie, your comments are as kind as ever.  I have a query, though.  This is the second time I have made these cookies and they are easy, quick and tasty ... but, the cornflakes seem to come out tough and overly chewy - even though they were out of a newly opened packet.  Has anyone else had this problem with cornflakes in cookies?  Any ideas on whether it is possible to stop them from turning out like this?  Would it work if I were to subtitute rolled oats for cornflakes for instance?  This is the recipe I used. I guess I should also post this query onto sistermixin's blog as well but I trust answers coming up on here because none of us has an 'interest' in pushing this recipe.

Marina, not sure if this will help but an Auntie used to make something similar but rolled the dough in the cornflakes.
Made Portuguese Custart tarts to take to picnic tea at DD new house.
Also another pipe loaf.
Slow cooker veggie soup.
Tomorrow, visitors for lunch. We are having roast duck. Because it is difficult to carve I am going to cut it into 1/4 before roasting. We are also having a Xmas Pud with custard made in TMX .

Ooh, yummy Chookie. I'm sure that lunch will go down well. I have to make some more stock concentrate today as we have run out and I find it so easy to use for soup.
I also hope to make some cracker biscuits.
This is the cake that DD took to work today. The buttercream icing had sugar and 430g of butter in it. She said it is very sweet, but the workers are enjoying it.
It is far from brilliant icing but it was ok.
