Yum these look like what I used to sneakily buy for a quick lunch at the pretzel shop, before they all closed down :(
I can't wait to make them thanks bzb :D

These would be great at kids' parties.  Can little ones get their mouths around them or are they smaller than they look girls?

They're not tiny! Like what we'd buy from the shops here called "long rolls", plus a sausage inside.
My kids like them to be cut in half for the lunchbox to make them a bit easier. I might have to try them with mini sausages and smaller bits of bread dough.

We had these on Sunday for dinner. I'm afraid mine were not dainty like BZB's. I should have made the bread thinner before I wrapped it round the sausages. However we still loved them and I will know for next time.

How thin is the bread dough supposed to be cookie?  I think I would like it thick, I love bread ;D

Mine was about an inch thick when I wrapped it round the sausages. Then of course it rose. We still loved them. One was well and truly a meal.

We call these 'Pig in a Blanket'. Normally done with frankfurts, but sausages would be so much nicer. Thanks for the recipe, I'll be making these soon as I think DH would love these for lunch.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Just made 21 sausage buns  :o, (had nothing left in the freezer for dh's lunches.)
we had them for lunch, got the full thumbs up from all, with dh even giving me ideas for "next time"  ;D
thanks for sharing bzb, delicious.  :-*

will post pic later if I am not to embarrassed... mine are not pretty like everyone else,  started ok but then got too much for my wrist so just sorta covered the sausages with dough however it went on!  :-)) :-)) :-[
