That would have been a great cooking class cookie.
Surprise guests are a great motivation to do some extra house cleaning Denise, baking for them is much more fun though.
How disappointing that not one of those interested in SD turned up Chookie but all good in the end. It will be interesting to see if they have success with it.

Judy, 3 of the people who took the SD starter were men. There are more men than woman at the Creswick swap. It was the reverse of this at Woodend.

The men may well report back to you on their SD success Chookie.
Here is a rough photo of some of our cooking yesterday.
Sorry it's sideways. We did swans, eclairs and the red topped things are cream puffs with a crumble topping on and 'things' created from them. The swans have a little cream on top of the crėme patisserie the rest just have the custard in.
The crumble topping is great and can be any colour you like. If anyone wants to know how to do it I can share as it's quite easy.
Nearly forgot, we did a croquenbouche as well. We ate some of that last night! Sorry I can't spell it!

Nice array of your Choux pastries Cookie.  8) In one of the Great British Bake Off episodes the contestants had to make a Croquembouche. It was pretty difficult to assemble, so well done having a go Cookie.

Cookie, that's a nice selection of choux pastry.  I never seem to have a lot of success with this pastry :(

I love choux pastry, fiddly but worth it in the end I bet chookie.  Well done to both of you.

.       Mab try the recipe on the Forum. I didn't have a lot of luck until I tried this one. It is by Cream Puff and has been one of my favourites for a long time.  It is worth reading the comments also.

The pastry chef that ran the class said you could do the Choux pastry in the thermomix. ( he knew I had a couple!) just be sure to let the dough cool before you add the eggs otherwise they will cook.
I've made Cream Puffs  cream puffs and they were lovely.

Good advice Cookie. Must make some. Ral loves them.
Bit more unpacking. We are down to the paintings and photos.
Sorted the bed linen today and I know that I need better fitting sheets for the new bed, but I have 10 sets of sheets in very good condition. Why so many ? Well 2 houses each with 3 bedrooms with queen beds.
This is back to normal now so will have to give some away. And yes I do have some of those striped flannelette ones. Think these will be the first to go.

I hope things went well for you Marina. I had mine on Monday. I'm now allowed to go in 9 months instead of 6. Whoopee!
