Marina, that is indeed a lovely thought.

Robyn did you have to sit a theory and a practical test? Over here you need to do both.

Hi friends.
High winds today. You would need your tipple of Port Cookie LOL.

A great idea to have an Advent Gift Box Marina. Not sure if it is done here in the UK.

How was the Fun Run Chookie?

Oops, fun run today.

I need some suggestions. DD belongs to a group of woman cyclists. Once a month they do a ride and end up at a coffee shop for morning tea. In a couple of week it is her turn to organise the ride. They will finish the ride at her house. She has organised a Coffee Van and has asked if I will cater for about 20. I will have to prepare most food the day before. Any suggestions would be greatfully received.

Cool again here today.

Chookie, I don't think anyone organises this, I have always just dropped it in to the nearest Salvation Army shop and asked them to hand it on to someone in need, but I think I might follow up on Judy's link (thanks, Judy) and see if there is a similar group in Melbourne.

I started doing this a couple of years ago when I came across a link for making Xmas gifts using the TMX - come Xmas time, all the mothers were in such a frenzy and super-stressed making such huge thank you boxes to give to teachers, etc., I felt it was almost obscene.  Don't get me wrong, I am not taking anything at all away from teachers, they are great and deserve to be appreciated, we would certainly not be the same without them.  I just felt the people on the forum were trying to be more 'one up on the mother next door', than really expressing sincere appreciation to the teachers, especially when you look at our streets and see the needy people struggling to get by, many through no fault of their own.  Anyway, that explanation is not well worded, hope you can read between the lines.  Teachers, nurses, firemen/women,etc. are invaluable and should be recognised as such.

Good morning everyone.
Chookie you will be in your element with your morning tea task.  Some muffins, biscuits (sweet & savoury), finger sandwiches, scrolls - the list is endless.
Your rum, raisin & banana cake made into muffins
Trudy’s lemon muffins
Your macadamia & cheese biscuits
Some of your sandwich fillings could be made the night before - eg egg, curry, mayo & chives or shredded chicken, finely diced celery & mayo, cream cheese & smoked salmon.
Mini quiches or pizzas.
You will nail it completely.

It has turned quite cool again. Occasional showers. Nice in the garden though.
Thousands at fun run. Also provision for walkers.
Obbie, that is a lot of prep for a boat license. Very important to be properly prepared.

I still can’t get on to Tapatalk.

Chookie would your DD's group like some of Amy's little quiches?  I'm sure everyone will love whatever you make.
