CP, this looks very nice. I will try it today as I have fish ready for dinner tonight. Thanks.
-
This looks great CP
-
How long do you think this would last as a gift in the Christmas hamper CP - in an airtight container? Obviously not suitable for a GF person though?
-
as long as its airtight, it should last as long as the last expiry date on the breadcrumb or herb pkt
-
I might even do a batch and keep some of it in the freezer. Thanks CP.
-
Thanks CP, looks delish ;)
Is Panko just the brand of breadcrumbs or is a special variety I haven't known b4. I usually buy a basic home brand one, would that substitute??
-
They're Japanese breadcrumbs CD, very crisp and I wouldn't swap them for anything else in this recipe. You could I guess but you might as well go the whole hog and end up with something very special - right CP?
-
DH likes chicken wings in coatings and then baked. I will give this a try.
-
you could use breadcrumbs, but the Panko are just nicer
-
Fantastic cp, great to take on self catering holidays :)
Also reckon if you had no cornflakes, jatz would work well :)
-
Cool ta 4 that. I like something new every day!
-
Sounds good CP. Will give these ago when I get back.
-
Trippled the recipe before cp ate all the cornies. Fits perfectly in my 500g jar

-
I bought all the ingredients for this recipe this week to make for my hampers as it sounds so tasty.
-
I had everything but the cornflakes, crown prince hoes into them as they are a treat. So I thought I better make up some before he found them :) triple fits well in jug :) taking them away as a quick easy meal :)
-
This is really nice CP, thanks for the recipe. I used it on snapper fillets last night. I used 1 egg for 2 pieces of fish but there was enough there to do 4 pieces quite easily.
-
Thanks cp.. Love crumbed meat yum.. My fav is chicken.,
I had never heard of pancko breadcrumbs either before moving back.. Id heard ppl going on about the japanese crumbs whichthey are but we couldnt get them overseas.. We did have crispy breadcrumbs though so im sure if you cant get them you could find a substitute..i havent noticed a huge difference to whst i was using before and the pancko?? Maybe normal breadcrumbs in oz are different to those elsewhere??
-
Would this work for tofu and shallow frying?
-
I shallow fried the fish TL and yes you could definitely crumb tofu with this mixture.
-
Thanks Judy, will try that tomorrow as we have hard tofu in the fridge.
-

Yum Halex must put this on the do list :)
-
Oh hally that looks scrummy... Drool love !
-
Very very yummy, all gone, no left overs, left overs woukd be nice in a fresh crispy roll with salad :)
-
. . . or in a Maddy's bread cone with a little salad and mayonnaise or mustard . .??
Hally - they look mouthwateringly fantastic! Going to try this today . . :D
-
Might need to give this one a go. I don't have breadcrumbs so I might try it without and see how it goes.
-
Everyone loved it puffs :-*
only change I made was doubling the garlic powder.
Could easily be turned into a spiced coating....too easy, thanks :-*

-
Nice pan SuzieG.
-
:-)
They were excellent! Thank you for a great recipe!
-
I have modified this recipe to take on board maddy's suggestion re the garlic powder. You can be liberal in spice measurements depending on what you more or less llike. I would recommend trying this mix first and then adjust. It's your coating mix after all ;)
-
DO you get the panko breadcrumbs from regular supermarket??
-
Yes GHM, it is quite common.
-
Yum! We had this tonight on some chicken breasts. Very tasty and so easy.
I didn't make the coating as JD gave me some (even easier ;D thanks JD!).
We'll definitely have again.
-
Glad you enjoyed it. I forgot to tell you we liked your/Chookie's Mustard fruits too.
-
Made this tonight using chicken tenderloins. Only used half the wet mix which worked out the right amount for what I was coating tonight.
So easy, we really enjoyed it, thanks CP.
(served with a salad and potato bake). :)

Yummy again

I used smoked paprika, and even more garlic powder.....the combinations of this mix are endless :)
-
Looks great will try soon
-
Had this tonight with fish, and agree that 1 tsp of garlic powder is great. I also put a teensy bit more paprika. Yum. Had some of alyce a's chilli mayo to serve on the side, and served with a salad. Simple but satisfying meal.
-
These all looks great. How has everyone cooked theirs? Hally yours almost look deep fryed.
-
I shallow fry mine Wonder.
-
Shallow fry with a little bit of butter and oil
-
Im going to try this for dinner tonight and use bite size pieces with either veg or salad..
Ok Didnt have celery salt or garlic powder so used what i had in pantry and put in dry onion.. Will havebto try again with listed ingredients.. Just had with a basic salad..
Before cooking.. The white ones were just panko breadcrumbs to finish off last few bits.. I like hally's idea of mixing up dry ingredients and putting in a jar or container.. Think also drying your own garlic nd herbs would hesitate the flavour..

And after..

Used the last of my batch tonight. Love it.
Marinated chicken drumsticks overnight in buttermilk, coated with this, oven 200ff, absolutely delicious.
:)
-
Bumping this as I totally forgot about it >:( I was going through my menu plans for the last 12 months & this popped up :) have all ingredients so making a big jar :)
-
Thansk for bumping this Hally. I just need to remember to include it on my list to make.
-
Ooh....the photos here look so good! Must try :)
-
We had this on chicken fillets tonight.mi didn't have a few of the herbs so substituted the parsley & basil for sage and oregano. The flavour was still lovely.
-
Thanks Judy for the link. Have yet to try it, but after looking at ALL the pictures this is a must make.
Hally, did you use breast meat? What setting on the airfryer please :)
-
Yes breast, 200 4 mins turn, 200 5 mins turn.
Doing thicker ones for dinner 6 mins each side.
Not milk or egg, just seasoning & then spray oil :)
-
Thanks Hally :)
-
They look great Hally, i wouldn't have thought the coating would stick directly to the chicken I'll have to try it next time. I really like this mix.
-
Yes they do wonder, quick and easy :)
-
That would make them very quick and much less messy
-
Airfried tenderloins coated with this seasoning. Super yummy! Thanks CP xx
Did it as per Hally's version. Just seasoning, nothing else
