Does anyone know where I can get the Malaysian cook book please? We are in Sydney.

I have placed an order for taiwanese cookbook few days ago~ Waiting for them to send over to me. Of coz, I have to pay the postage fee.. ;)

I too am interested in the TMX Malaysian cookbook. I have had a look at it as my GL has it. I might ask her how she got it and let you all know ;)

I just listed mine on Ebay. It looked great, I just have too many TMX cookbooks and so many forum recipes to get through!

I think there might be a mix up about the types of books. I think they meant Malaysian cookbooks in general and not TMX ones. I haven't had the time to check et :-))

There is a Malaysian Thermomix cookbook. The dishes are very traditional home cooked dishes; I'm not sure whether it would appeal to everyone - they aren't exactly the ones for Malaysian dishes we are familiar with, but worth a look if one must.

sorry if i'm off topic, but faith hope love, where / how do i order the taiwanese tm cookbooks? they sure look more promising than the malaysian version i hve!

Are you in Oz? If so contact your consultant and they should be able to order you one but it won't be in English I don't think :-\

thanks meagan! unfortunately i'm in singapore! i hope it is in chinese or some lang i can understand tho. i'm gonna call my consultant up and ask her how to order (we get our stuff from malaysia). :)

Ohhh Cantonpixie, does your consultant have contact details for someone in Malaysia? I would love to get hold of their book after seeing it, but the contact details I have have yielded no reply :( :(

hey faffa i'm sure she has contact details for someone in malaysia. u mean the malaysian cookbook? i'll ask her for you. right now all thermomixes in singapore are gotten from malaysia, heard they're opening a singapore distributiion centre a few months down the line or something.
for sure, the taiwanese book looks more impressive than the malaysian one! :P

The Taiwanese books (they have more than one) are gorgeous. The one available through our HO is in a ring binder and the pages are nice and sturdy and don't stick together when they get wet ==>>they don't stick together like the ones we have. Downside is that they are written in Chinese, which is totally useless to me because I can't read Chinese.
Pixie, you should have a look at the Asian cookbook coming out in May - my consultant says that it is waaayyy better than the Malaysian edc, which I have and am not impressed with. It has lots of Malaysian/Singaporean recipes.

you mean you bought all the taiwanese books and can't read any of them? if you are interested in any particular recipe, you can email the page to me and i'll translate it. :) (this applies to anyone else reading this post!)
and, i hadn't realised that the asian cookbook was different from the malaysian one! i had assumed whenever i read posts referring to the asian cookbook that they were referring to the malaysian cookbook!
it'd better be waaaaaayyyyyy better than the malaysian edc. i think the malaysian edc recipes are all kinda "off". i've been doing plenty of my own conversions etc after trying out a few dismal ones in the malaysian cookbook. their 5 grain porridge recipe is way off on the amount of water called for. i was unfortuntae enough to try it on day 2 of getting my TM and it boiled over and i nearly freaked out. also, their stir fried greens recipe gives one stir fried yellows, not greens.
btw, my consultant doesnt know either how to get hold of the taiwanese cookbooks. so does anyone else have any contacts to the taiwanese folks? failing which i think i'd have to make a cold call to the taiwanese distrbutor.

no, I didn't buy all the Taiwanese cookbooks - my friend did - she can read Chinese, so that's fine. All she did was go online to the Taiwanese tm site and order them. There's no need to go through your consultant to get them. She showed them to me and the books are really gorgeous and had pictures of all the recipes. The set out is also very user friendly.
Glad i'm not the only one who thiks the Malaysian edc recipes are not very good, which is silly because it does the tm a great disservice - it isn't the tm at fault but the recipe.
Does trumix import any of the Australian tm cookbooks for sale to its customers? UKtm does, which really expands the range available. I wish Australian tm would bring in more books - they only bring in the Indian cookbook from the UK, but the UK edc and demonstrator delights cookbooks are really good and should be brought in. Can anyone shed any light on what the Canadian book is like? Is there a Canadian book?

You know what would be great? If we could match ourselves up with some one in another country and swap the books, ie, I'd get them whatever Australian tm (or other) book they wanted and they got me their equivalent.

its a pity each country doesnt translate their books and make them available worldwide via their individual sites..some do but alot dont..france have some great books but they are only available in french and im sure its the same in many other countires...i love seeing what other countries have on offer..pity i only speak two languages..would love to speak others as that would open up so many more doors..i find though that if you contact the HO in each country they seem to be more than happy to send you any books on sale :)

Have just ordered this book directly from True Mix in Malaysia. The current price (as of December, 2011) of the Malaysian Cookbook is RM85 (approx AU$27) and the air parcel postage to Australia is RM37.50. (approx AU$11.90) Either email them at enquiry@truemix-malaysia.com or phone them on 603 - 78049326 They recommend credit card payment as the easiest way and that the delivery address be emailed to avoid any errors.
