What have you been doing today?

Judy you have produced some incredible looking food. The Probus ladies will love you to bits.

DH went out fishing with a friend again today. They did well, catching 9 lovely big fish between them. We don't have the freezer space so have only taken some for dinner tomorrow night and one baldchin fillet to freeze.

Thanks girls, I really enjoy putting my thinking cap on to come up with some different things each year.  It's nice to get back in the kitchen and cook for more than 1 person.  They ladies take all the leftovers home, I supply takeaway containers for them.

Went to the farmers market this morning.  I bought some King Edward potatoes, beetroot, cooking apples, mushrooms, garlic and honey.  All grown locally.

DH and I spent 3 hours at Salamanca markets in Tassie. I bought some Chilli/kaffir lime salt rub (Tassie sea salt), and a small jar of Pepperberry &sea salt rub. Some yummy Creamed Leatherwood honey, Salted caramel popcorn dipped in chocolate (DH picked that ) 3 packets of different nuts (soy, sesame almonds)Honeyed macadamias and Caramel cashews, all to take to DS in Melbs on our way home to Perth. I bought a biggish colourful bag made from recycled fabric strips, a scarf. We bought a small picture for our wall as a memento of our trip. It's a row of birds carved from local wood. DH bought some woollen socks. I'm sure there's things I've forgotten.
We are now comfortably settled in our B&b looking at a replay of DH's dash cam footage. We had to swerve to miss a wombat running across the road today. You can clearly see him running across in front of us. Yesterday we saw a Lyre bird crossing in front of us while driving thru a forest area.

I loved the Salamanca market when we went down there for the Forumfest Katj, it's impossible to come away without buying something.

CC, thought you would enjoy it. Yes we bought fudge. It was delicious. They use cream from an organic farm.

Still unpacking. I do one or two boxes a day. Cleaning up in the garden and a bit of cooking.

Nothing like fresh homemade fudge. Or Turkish delight, I love a good Turkish delight.

It sounds like the fudge was rather nice.

This morning we went to the Monkey Mia Biggest morning tea. It's always fun as they auction things as well as selling plates of leftover food. Some of the regulars up here are lovely bakers.
I made Snickers Balls again as I didn't need an oven .https://wholefoodsimply.com/?s=Snickers+balls

I thought there was plenty of peanut butter in the jar but DH had been eating it on his toast. Thermomix to the rescue. I made some with some extra peanuts.

Isn't it great when the Thermie can get you out of trouble cookie?  We have a Biggest Morning Tea at the nursing home next week.
