I'm still a consultant after 12 months. I found it best to just put my requirements of what I need to be a consultant on the table with my group leader. I work part time and I volunteer at our school 1 day a week. My goal is one sale a month. I also attend all the team meetings and cooking classes that I can as these are also lots of fun. I still love using my Thermomix and showing it to people. There is really not much to loose if you already have a Thermomix. The business kit is things I would use personally. The 3 sales in 60 days is not mandatory. It just means you are on you're way to creating a successful business and its the Thermomix target. It's your business - you can set your targets.

In the end, the decision is yours. If you explain to your group leader what you have to offer and your uncertainty regarding targets, I'm sure she can put your mind at ease.

My first lot lasts a while. I can't really remember how long. After that I just reduced the amounts because I was running out of large bottles. Can't see why freezing won't work though.

Hally. Did you get the app working. You can import recipes, or you can import food. If I don't have a recipe on the menu, I just list it as a food and add it as such. I love that I can make a food list when we go on picnics, camping etc, because it allows me to add things like apples, nuts etc to the menu plan under snacks. Check out the www.menu-planner.com website and it has tutorials there. Once you get into it, the app is versitile.

I use a 1/2 to a 1/4 of a scoop in my front loader and that's it. No softeners. The clothes look and feel great.

You also only get one set of blades within the 2 years if you are having them replaced under warranty.

I usually have lid on unless it states in the recipe or I'm doing a reduction. Recently though I have been sauteing with the lid off. It seemed more logical to me that you actually want the steam to escape if sauteing or else you're really stewing. Anyone else think so or is the design of the Thermomix such that saute should be with the MC on?

I looked into the Cobold in Australia last year and the distributor who lives down south provided me with a brochure and price. I couldn't see one demonstrated though. From memory is was around the high $2000 or low $3000. Cheaper than a Rainbow but more expensive than a dyson. The Colbold sill uses bags and we were really after a bagless that was light enough and easy enough to use everyday.

I also found flylady great to get me started. I too got tired of the emails and usually delete them unless I need some inspiration. Now things like shining the sink, making the bed, washing, getting ready are just routine. The swish and swipe still isn't yet though, so that's what I"m working on next. I love the 15minute ideas and the hot spots.

Hi Gretchen, - yes it is a Torres Strait Pigeon. The photo was taken a couple of years ago at The Dome in Cairns.

As for apps. I have deleted all the apps that I can get addicted to. I know I could spend hours on them and so it's best to delete and avoid the tempation.

Glad you enjoyed it Nik. I often pull it out to give things a bit of flavour.

Love the ipad and iphone. Love kindle, ibooks, Evernote, banking and have recently discovered menu_planner (website http://menu-planner.com/) . I posted some details in another another menu planning topic on this forum. The menu planner allows easy import of recipe from select websites (and soon to be all websites so Thermomix recipe communities as well, and hopefully the forum). It has easy shopping lists, pantry lists, recipes and the menu plan. Finally a menu planning app that's easy to use and syncs between my i products and desktop.

Just saw some of the questions. Looks like my posting is like my cooking. I use lots of substitutes. In this case it was dark soy sauce (sometimes I also use tamari). As for the chilli sauce maybe you could just use chopped chilli. That's the joy of the Thermomix, use what you have and you'll get something similar (not identical) and possibly even better than the original.

Hi Hally,

Once they are downloaded it appears they are stored on the app. The only time you need to be online is if you want to sync it with your online account so it can then sync with your iphones, desktop or any other itunes compatible product you are using.

I'm not sure how much space it will take up once you have a few recipes in there. I might suggest that archiving some recipes that you haven't accessed in a while to the developer, once I find it's too much.

I'm still using this app every day and have been finding the moving of recipes really easy if I don't use the meal on a certain day. The shopping list and what's in my pantry list have also been useful. I can just update these when I'm shopping or as I cook. It makes my meal preparation really easy.

Sue
