Hi All,
The thermomix makes lovely slow poached eggs. The eggs are poached in their shells for around 40 minutes and then cracked - you get the perfect consistency - restaurant quality ALL the time!
The hollandaise is pretty fantastic too!
Here is the link to the recipe

That looks so good. Now I'm hungry. I am a huge poached egg fan. I'll have to try this.
-
Lovely. Your photography and blog are stunning.
-
Trissa, do you make the hollandaise sauce first and keep it warm whilst poaching the eggs.
-
We are cooking these now will let you know how they turn out
-
Cooked these eggs for brunch delish the whites were still a bit runny might cook for an extra minute next time.
-
Eggs for breakfast tomorrow now!
-
I must have missed these. They look ever so professional Trissa. Great. :-*
-
Great work Trissa - it is a great way to cook them and have the restaurant quality result. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Loving your work.

I had these poached eggs for lunch today and they were delicious.Thank you.

Fail :(
My eggs were more or less raw when I tried this recipe this morning. Maybe they were too big for the cooking time. They were from our backyard chooks. I wound up putting them in the microwave which was a bit sad! Next time will give them an extra 5 minutes and see what happens.
-
oh yippee a poached egg recipe will be trying this one soon :)
-
Yum! Yes, basically they are being cooked sous-vide style.
-
I made these today eggs were perfect, I left them in the shell for about15 min after cooking as I had a grumpy toddler buy glad o did as they may have been under cooked otherwise just sat them in some hot water before eating, my sauce on the other hand was a complete disaster I fed it to the chooks, they didn't eat it! I think over cooked as grumpy toddler didn't let me keep and eye on it lol!
-
I just LOVE these eggs - if you don't like them so runny just give them a little more time... They're so beautiful I could hardly bear to eat them! :D
-
My second attempt at these eggs produced divine results!
And my first attempt?? Well lets just say if you are just about to cook slow poached eggs and a friend you haven't seen for ages knocks on the door and you absent mindedly plop the eggs in the TMX without the basket . . . it's not good! :o
-
Ha ha ha!!!!! :D
-
LOL!!
So weird I looked up this recipe earlier today when we were talking about poached eggs. I could have just waited a few hours and it would have been bumped into the unread threads, lol.
-
just tied these eggs at my friend's place and they got a TMX! it is unbelievably easy and I did remember the $$ that I paid cumulus inc for their 65C egg for breakfast! Our friend did wake up early to start the eggs in TMX!
How good it would be if there is a delay start feature...and I can just wake up and have my eggs!
but that's for another part of the forum

Ultimate in fail :(
Left with a grumpy husband and breakfast for two dumped in the bin :-\ We cooked them and left them in the water for 15 mins and we still may aswell have just cracked a raw egg on to our toast. Not sure whats going on but I wont be trying again. Definately think I need to stick to poached eggs in a saucepan.
-
That's disappointing. Were the eggs directly from the fridge?
-
one to try in thermie...the only thing i dont like about eggs and thermie is it takes alot longer than traditional method !
-
I do my boiled eggs in there and can get on with other things whilst they are cooking. If I do a potato and egg salad, I just sit the whole eggs on top of the diced potato in the basket, remove them when they are cooked and continue cooking the potato until it is done - it's so easy.
-
I made this with only 4 eggs..... we needed 5..... but I know my kids and they HATE poached eggs. So, I knew very well that I would be getting theirs. Well..... guess what! I did not get one taste of any poached egg. THEY ALL SCOFFED IT DOWN!!!!! EVERY BIT OF IT!!!!!
Unbelievable.
-
:D :D We think we know our kids Molly but they throw us a curved ball at times. Sorry you missed out.
-
No they were room temp fresh eggs. Wonder what happened? :-\
-
That's so funny, Molly! :D
That is strange, ChanNKids - mine haven't done that before :(
-

ChanNKids.... I know you don't want to.... but the people here have encouraged me to try again when I didn't want to and then it worked!! So, maybe try one day when it doesn't matter, iykwim... with plenty of time to get something else if need be.
If I'm honest, our eggs must have sat in the water for an ectra 5 minutes and then up in the basket for another 15-20 minutes before we ate them, while I plated up the rest.
Have a go!!!
-
Ok :) I will try again when they aren't "needed" so badly.
-
Have just done the eggs this morning, but the first one was very undercooked. Realised I should have had them at room temperature so cooked the other one for 12 minutes longer and left in the basket for a 15 minutes. This is for large eggs straight from the fridge.
