This was delicious and my mum loved it. Not much left for her to take home though as we all went back for more.  :D Will be making this one regularly. Great recipe and thank you  :)

I'm just about to make another loaf and I couldn't find the recipe. I've put it somewhere for safe keeping. :P :P So I'm about to put it on evernote again. I thought I might use dates instead of apricots this time.

Faffa, that happens to me all the time. I have a midnight mouse (aka dh) who snacks at midnight on nuts. Tends to eat the whole packet..no matter the size of the packet. I am constantly trying to find new hiding places.

Girls,  I think Haze nuts or Pecans would be OK.

It's really cold here today so is still on the second rising. The only difference I can see so far is that the dates have made the dough a bit brownish, as though it has spices in it. That doesn't worry me though. Will let you know how it tastes later.

Just made this for the firs time. It was wonderful and well worth the $20 and trip to two delis to eventually get the walnut oil.  I have one of those pans that makes eight mini loaves, I think I may try it in that next time.. I think I will freeze the rest before I eat any more, maybe a slice toasted in the morning...

Grayhoundmum,  I often uses a little Walnut oil in my bread

Cookie , will try the dates.  Would you replace thw apricots or raisins with the cranberries?

I have this rising at the moment... But only had one satchet of yeast left (2 teaspoon instead of 3) - so hopefully it rises... and only plain flour rather than bakers flour... Oops! Hope it works!

Hi Kulsha. I don't use the sachet yeast as I buy it by the kilo so I only used two tsp. it's quite a heavy bread and mine didn't rise much. Hope it turns out well for you. It is also yummy next day toasted.

Thanks greyhoundmum. The next lot of yeast I buy won't be satchets... And will try toast tomorrow too.

Well, the bread itself turned out well except the fruit nut mix didn't get evenly mixed through, it's kinda grouped into a clump. Maybe I need to add it earlier in the kneading process or maybe the plain flour made the dough harder to mix it through as I couldn't manage to knead it in. Definitely will give it another go soon as the flavour combination was still beautiful, thanks Chookie.
