Chit Chat / Re: Tenina's Insider's Club

I've found this Insider's Club great value but then previously I only had 3 - 4 of her books and was able to grab the rest as a member.  It's early days but I'm impressed so far :)

I agree we usually do Europe with a backpack each and that's it.... extra benefit is the kids and grandkids know that's how we travel and no way we can bring back anything much - well unless its jewellery for me :)

I bought the pack lite cases too. Two of the smaller ones as we always travel as light as possible.  They look good and as Gert says fold down when empty.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Greetings from France
« on: August 06, 2014, 09:12:43 am »
I live in Melbourne  Australia.  Had TMX just over three years :) I use it for almost everything just love it.  I love it so much I have given my two daughters and my daughter in law each one as I want them to cook from scratch as much as possible ( thinking of the little grand darlings).  Only one actually wanted it. The other two said "would never use it".... Well I'm pleased to say that they ALL would never be parted from their machines!  In fact they teach me a lot now LOL!  Can't believe the change of mind two have had.  I lent my daughter in law, who definitely did NOT want one, my machine when I was away... In France actually.  Haha. There were tears when I came  to claim it back  until the new one could be delivered.  I think TMX should lend out machines because I have had three people buy because they used mine when I was away at various times.

I would definitely love to come to a class and will watch out. We usually go to France every May- June but next year we have to visit my brother in Oregon :( he is having a significant birthday. ... And as we run our own business we have limited get away time.  This year we were in Avignon, Paris and Strasbourg with a side trip to San Sebastián.   I get your FB notifications and am green with envy for your lifestyle!

I love checking out your blog too and especially all the French stories.  Just came back from a lovely holiday over there - where are you based?

I think I might try this but use lentils instead of tvp.  Sounds nice.

Non Food Recipes / Re: Washing Machine Powder

Has anyone used this http://simonesthermomixessentials.wordpress.com/2010/09/10/nikkis-homemade-laundry-powder/ recipe?
I am making it specifically for baby clothes wash, and I'm wondering if the Borax is the be all and end all or if this is just as good?
Anyone with some experience, I'd love to hear from you.

And yes, this is my first post and I'm hoping I've done this right. ;D

I use this recipe all the time and it's great. I did change the recipe slightly recently and used 2 1/2 bars of soap and 1/2 bar of sard.  I saw this idea on the web somewhere and out of interest made the change.  For a cold wash for wool or other delicates, I mix the powder with 1/2 cup of boiling water and then tip it in as I don't think it would dissolve in cold water wash. Works fine this way.

Chit Chat / Re: Are there any backyard veggie gardeners here?
« on: November 23, 2013, 09:34:01 pm »
We have most of our veg in a caged veg patch because of possums. Grrr.  But planted a rhubarb plant in one of the half barrels we have and they ate all the leaves!!!!! I thought the leaves would make them sick.  The rhubarb stalks were left standing bare and of course withered up.

Arrived yesterday used it today.  This is a very user friendly machine and I really like it. Just used the quick cook function as I was cleaning out the fridge and chopped up all the older veg in TMX then cooked for 10 mins in cook4me. Was great. Love the way it automatically releases the steam instead of having to wait for the pressure to come down.  Also love the keep warm function.

I'm half way through "The Memory of Running" by Ron McLarty. It's not my usual sort of book but I am really enjoying it!
