Caroline J - I had to tweak this quite a bit because I didn't want to go to the shops in the rain. I used a pasta sauce instead of the tomatoes, added 2 roasted red capsicums as I needed to use them up, added 2 carrots to the onion and garlic to increase the vegie count, added frozen peas and corn to the meat sauce before cooking.  It really is a fantastic recipe that you can tweak and change easily. Anyway, the verdict- it's delicious!!  I had to use two baking dishes for this, so have frozen one as suggested. 5/5

Good one HelenN - could add some vegies to the meat sauce too.   Great family meal.

Yes it does sound like a nice winter meal and as JD say lends itself to hiding a few vegies.  ;) Well done HelenN

I was just coming on here to get mince meat suggestions for dinner tonight.  It's all I have in the fridge, and it's so cold and wet in Perth here today, I don't want to take the kids out to the shops.  So, we'll be making this tonight- review later!
