1 tsp baking powder
200 g dark chocolate

1 tsp vanilla essence

Line a 20 x 30cm slice tin with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 180C.
Chop the almonds, hazelnuts and baking powder at Speed 8 for 8 seconds. Set aside.
Chop the chocolate at Speed 8 for 5 seconds.
Add the butter and sugar and melt at Speed 2, 90C for 3 minutes.
Add the eggs, vanilla essence and reserved nut mixture and mix at Speed 4 for 30 seconds.
Pour into the tin and bake for 20-25 minutes at 180C, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Allow to cool in the tin.
When cool, slice into 16 to 20 pieces and dust with icing sugar.

This recipe was quick and easy to make and very tasty.  I baked it for an extra 10 minutes (didn't think it was cooked enough) and it turned out a little dry, so if I had stuck to the recommended time it would probably have been just right!

I couldn't help thinking as I  made it that it would also be really yummy with some added sultanas that had been soaked in some kind of liqueur/fortified  8)

Thanks for this recipe.
I have a 21 year old daughter who has just been diagnosed with Irritable Bowl Syndrome after years of not feeling well.
We are just trying the FODMAPS diet which is quite complex to see if the symptoms can be reduced.
This recipe with a few tweaks was so special and showed her that there are yummy treats that is easy to make.
Thanks!
