Barbecued Honey Chicken
ingredients
1 packet low salt French onion soup
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon sherry
Chicken, breast, drumsticks or whatever you normally use.
Preparation
1. Combine soup mix, honey, lemon juice, garlic and sherry and pour over the chicken.
2. Marinate for 2 hours or overnight.
3. Grill or barbecue the chicken basting with marinade as you go.
You can pour the marinade over if you wish, and if it won't spread everywhere.
I was doing some cleaning and found this recipe I had made from www.Taste.com.au
It is a quick easy one for hot nights.
This can be cooked easily in the air fryer.

Guess we could use our FOSM (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6744.0) for this one Cookie. I've just taken a couple of packets of Lovely Legs out of the freezer and will cook these in the weber tomorrow. I really need to get my stocks down so this is a start.
-
Thanks cookie it does sound quick and easy and yummy.
-
Sound really yum cookie, we just need a barbecue ;D
-
Amy I have done this in a skillet or frying pan. Cook up the chicken then add the marinade at the end, boil it up and use it as a sauce over the chicken
-
Awesome, sounds good cookie! Thanks! I think I know what is on the menu for Thursday night ;D
-
These are so delicious. I used the FOSM recipe highlighted in my previous post and used 1kg Lovely Legs, lined a baking dish with baking paper and tipped the marinade & chicken in. Preheated weber kettle to 210oC on high then turned it down to low where is cooked on around 200oC for an hour. Turned 3/4 of the way through and they were perfect. Thanks Cookie for such a great recipe for chicken lovers.

WOW Judy.... its 11:57am here and I was just thinking about lunch ;D ;D ;D

It looks lovely Judy. I forgot to take a photo as we gobbled it all up quickly.
-
Thanks Cookie, I don't blame you, it's so good.

Yep after seeing Judy's photo there on the menu here for Thursday night too ;D

Yum cookie1.
This one passed the judges panel with all 4 of us saying 'do it again'.
Miss 16 even said it would be nice cut smaller as an appetiser. I nearly fell off my chair - she was actually thinking about food! Amazing!
I'm going to get some more chicken, marinate it, vacuum seal it and freeze it. Be good to have on hand. Thank you :)
-
Cookie, I've decided to start a Grandma's favourite recipes cookbook for GD and this is going to be the first entry in it. Thanks for the motivation to do something I've been thinking of doing for ages. :-* :-*
-
JD, hw much how made fosm did you use?
H :)
-
3.5 tablespoons of FOSM = 1 x 35g packet French Onion Soup mix Hally.

Made this today (and more FOSM first), only I cooked it in my pc.
Too hot to even go outside to the bbq, but to be honest, I prefer drumsticks cooked in the pc anyway so I cooked it in the same manner that I cooked the honey & hoisin chicken recipe that's on the forum.
For anyone interested this is what I did:
Immediately after making the marinade I poured it into my pc and placed the (skinned drumsticks) on top. Placed the pot on a simmer mat and locked the lid. Set to high pressure over medium heat and left it for about 10 mins. I knew it wouldn't come to pressure just yet as there wasn't enough liquid in the pot, but what this does is help to release the liquid from the chicken. After the 10 mins, I removed the lid and gave it all a stir, removed the simmer mat, locked lid again and brought to high pressure over med heat. Once stabilised, cooked for 10 mins.
Released pressure using cwm, removed the chicken from the pot into a large serving bowl, the meat was falling off the bones. I returned the pot to the hob and simmered the sauce over med heat for about 6-8 mins stirring now and then until it had thickened but not too thick that it wouldn't pour.
I poured it over the chicken in the bowl and put this on the table with tongs and a spoon so we could spoon over some of the sauce over our chicken when on our plates. It worked perfectly and this is the way I would make it again.
I served with a simple salad and pasta salad.
Thanks Cookie. :D

Great one Cookie - can't wait to make it!!

Made this today with chicken breasts and pan fried on cooktop. Really delicious thanks. Great hot night meal.
-
Glad you liked it.
I love your rosé avatar.
-
Thank you that's my honey Dijon rose. A foody rose! ;D
-
Didn't get to this last night, but made it tonight!
Smelled absolutely divine while cooking. Really yummy, thanks cookie :D :D
-
must make this one, thanks Cookie
-
I browsed the forum yesterday to make my weekly menu plan and remembered how much we enjoyed this when I made it last time. So I made it again tonight and it is still delicious ;D
For some reason it looks very different to my last lot. But it tasted great and that's the main thing ;)
-
Yummo, that looks delicious, I'll have to try it soon :)
-
Cookie can you please let me know how long you cooked this recipe in the airfryer. I have linked the recipe to the other list but need a time and temperature.
-
Sorry Judy. I did notice that I hadn't said anything, but then completely forgot.
I can't honestly remember, but I cook most things at 180 and I think it would have been about 15 minutes for the breast and 20 or so for the
Thighs. Humble apologies.
-
Thanks Cookie, will post those times then.
-
Chicken dish looks delicious but as I don't have an air fryer or webber I will try in the oven. I too have been saving recipes to put into a book for my GD when she is old enough; I called it my Top Ten; love your name best JudyDawn. I think by the time my GD has her own kitchen everyone will own a TMX.
-
I always used to bake mine in the oven Troupie.
