CC, is that a fresh bird?   Love the look of a roast whole bird.  The Turkeys in Australia are at their best at Easter.  Consequently, many are killed at this time and frozen.
Ordered our ham yesterday. We get a very large one ( 8 k ).  and give lots away. I always get one on the bone as we keep the bone for soup in the winter. The ham comes from a family who live and work on a property between Macedon and Ballarat. We have bought from them for years, prior to them becoming well known for their top quality  small goods. Istra.

An unusual vase and beautiful roses. Our roses are just finishing their first flush of flowers after pruning.

As there will only be the 3 of us for Christmas we aren't having turkey, we always seem to have lots of turkey left over, so I'm just doing a couple of breasts of chicken stuffed and rolled. Also ham and a terrine of chicken, ham and vegies.  With heaps of salads.

Yes Chookie the bird is fresh. You can buy frozen ones too but I prefer a fresh bird.

CC, to get a really good fresh Turkey here for Xmas we need to go to the Queen Victoria Market. Bit of a trip so we will have to put up with the frozen one.

Beautiful roses Chookie.

DD and I escaped into the city for the day before it becomes too busy in the lead up to Christmas.
First stop was the QVB with its massive Christmas tree with 82,000 Swarovski crystals! So gorgeous.
Next was Peter's of Kensington. It's like a huge fairyland maze filled with beautiful things. Could have spent the whole day in there (and a whole lot of money :-)) ).
Last stop was the Christmas window displays at David Jones city store. Haven't done this for a few years and it was very disappointing compared to years past.
However if you're in Sydney, both the QVB tree and Peter's are amazing.

Gorgeous Gayle, it sounds as if you really enjoyed your trip to the city today.  I only went to Costco and it was mad enough in there and in the car park!

They both look great Gayle. I've never been to POK but I think I would love it.

I would love to visit to POK.  I recently purchased something from them and ever since I have been innundated by at least 2 - 3 emails every day - it is driving me mad, which is a shame as I would enjoy one once a month or so, but this is overkill.  I will unsubscribe from their emails.

Same here Marina. I've never bought anything there but did subscribe to their emails. I was driven mad, so I unsubscribed.
