Hi Karen - I hope the poll will make it easier for voters. Think that I have covered a reasonable amount of bases.
Let me know what you think, let me know if there are other countries/states that should be added.
-
thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Wow, I didn't realize that a third of the members are from the States... LOL
-
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
just giving this a bump so more people see it and vote :)
-
WA is storming ahead!!!
-
Yes indeed, 5 of us have said where we are from! Come on West Aussies.
-
I am just recovering from jet lag after returning home from Italy and Paris and have just put in my vote to boost the South Aussies!!
-
That must have been wonderful Amanda. :)
-
haha i was too jealous to post here!
-
Yes, it was a great trip. I took our eldest who has just finished high school. It was a bribe that we suggested to her some years ago - a trip to Europe instead of going to schoolies. We forgot about it, but she didn't!
-
I think that was a wise thing to do Amanda. We did a similar thing 10 years ago for our daughter, though it wasn't Europe. Saves everyone a lot of worry and daughters being put into situations that they may or may not be ready to handle.
-
Great to see you back Amanda. There has been a lot happen since you were last here.
How about others just quickly ticking the boxes above to say where you come from please?
-
C'mon, there has to be someone else from the States out there !!!!
-
Poor Karen - nobody is even game to click on the Poll. - It is anonymous and it doesn't bite.
-
unlike me ;D :D
-
W..e....l....l. It doesn't bite very hard!
-
Just saw this for the first time, voted and now posting to give it bit of a bump. Come on you West Aussies, lets make sure we stay leading the poll !! ;)
-

I'm planning on doing something like that... problem is I have four children so maybe a more local trip may be in order...
I'm based in Qld, Oz
-
Brisbane, Qld here :)
-
Another West Aussie!!
I'm new, having just joined and posting an intro on the Intro forum.
-
Can't believe I'm STILL the only member from the States. I don't understand why TM doesn't promote a bigger exposure here. You really have to exert yourself to find a rep :-/
-
Hi Meganjane. I think we're the home of thermomix here is WA. It certainly seems it from the number of people who turn up at classes. Welcome.
-
Can't believe I'm STILL the only member from the States. I don't understand why TM doesn't promote a bigger exposure here. You really have to exert yourself to find a rep :-/
Yeah, and I thought that promotion was poor here !! Have you seen their website ??
-
Yeah, if you want to call it a website... Just doesn't make sense to me. Must be some reason they don't want to market here.
-
Did you notice that all the posts by the rep from the US disappeared? ???
We may not be the sort of friends they want? ;) ;) :o ;D :D :) :-* :-\ :-X :P :o
-
yikes! is this an official or at least officially sanctioned site here?
-
Ohhh I think it is time this had a bump! After being on holidays for a couple of weeks and a couple of business trips thrown in before and after it is ages since I have popped in to say hello! There appears to be LOTS of new people around and I would love to see Karen's hard work put to use. (shh also know that WA is still going to be the highest % lol!!) :P
-

Well I'm Canadian, but my husband is American and he steals my Thermomix all.the.time... Does that count? ;)
-
Welcome MrSpock - great to see a North American here - Canadians seem to be ahead of their southern cousins with Thermomix.
-
Welcome MrSpock - great to see a North American here - Canadians seem to be ahead of their southern cousins with Thermomix.
It helps that we can actually *buy* them! I must admit I'm not yet grasping the Vorwerk's business strategy of keeping the Thermomix a secret! *g*
-
C'est vrai - a BIG secret in the world.
-
Maybe they can't keep up with the demand in Europe so don't want too many orders from elsewhere. Just a thought but probably wrong. :P :P :P :P
-
Think they want to sell lots - there are lots of little incentives to sell out their at present.
-
Unfortunately at the current price, I don't see it coming out of the niche market of restaurants and "dinks" (double income no kids). When I tell people how much I paid for my new "toy", everyone is looking at me funny. What's more frustrating is that it's perfectly OK to buy a big screen TV for the same price, but for a kitchen appliance that will save you some effort, it's unacceptable. I hate those double standards!
PS: I don't know how "by the book" we are here for out of topic conversations, so I apologize in advance if I'm breaking any rules!
-
No rules broken. Here is 100% freedom of speech (apart from rude words)!!! :) Great posts your are giving us. Please feel at home and post to your heart's content
Enjoy
Admin :)
-
mr spock, i posted soemthing similar on my blog when the price went up here a few months ago! bad time for it to go up. i guess consultants have really got to push the cost savings to offset the price.

But I'm not seeing that either! With all my fancy French recipes my grocery bill actually went UP! Don't get me wrong, I love my TMX, but cost saving is not the point I would use to sell it to my friends. Then again, I only had it a couple of weeks, so I have much to learn I guess :)
It might be that fresh produces are much more expensive than nasty prepared food here in Canada, since we have local produces just a few months a year...
-
LOL!!
no fancy french cuisine in my house ;)
-

ROFL no fancy cuisine in my house either....think you might be onto something with the local produces and the price perhaps. You will just have to think of all the time it saves you instead! ;)
-
Even at the demo, my consultant asked me whether I thought I would save money by buying the TMX and I immediately said no, because I would be trying all sorts of different things which I was not eating or drinking before. eg making my own orange juice. Oranges are reasonably expensive just to juice and, pre-TMX, I never bought orange juice, just the odd orange to eat as a piece of fruit. Now I have to buy whole bags full :D I never bought dips but now I am buying ingredients to make them occasionally and so the list goes on. BUT it is a whole new way of life in my kitchen (I have always loved being in there) and you just want to use it more and more and try different things. We hardly ever go out for a meal nowadays. I haven't even bothered to get the 2009/2010 Entertainment Book (Aussies will know what this is, others - it is a book of vouchers for 2 for the price of 1 meals). I find the cooler weather is ideal for cooking meals in the TMX - during our hot summers here it probably gets used more for desserts and drinks rather than main courses when we just want to have BBQ's and salads.
-
OK, so 401 members, but only 61 responses to Karen's Poll. that's a lot of very shy people y'all! Come out of the woodworks, especially if you're from North America! 8)

Come out, come out from WHERE EVER you are!! lol
-
Well I have to add, that I DO save a huge amount on my weekly shopping, since I have had THX my weekly shopping bill has reduced to half. 6 months ago my average weekly shop was 200€ and now its 100€, that is a huge saving for me! As you can imagine, with 3 very hungry kids, I am elated and now with the Washing Goo, its fantastic! I think the difference is that now I use up all leftovers of fruit or veg or anything really and knock something up, hence soup or ice-cream ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) And my freezer is absolutely chocca!!!
-
C'mon you guys from the States..... vote !!!! Need to improve our representation :)
-
Okey day, Unconundrum! I voted for the USA. I do spend some time in Hong Kong, but my Thermomix is in the US.
Might have to find one for Hong Kong, too. I see no one is from there. Does anyone know if there is a dealer in Hong Kong?
-
I am from Cape Town South Africa and clicked on Africa - perhaps you could add South Africa as 100 machines have been sold here now and I am sure people are logging on and reading the forum. I think I have read every recipe and will post some of my own at a later date.
Africa is a continent not a country so as people ask the countries could be added - at present I think South Africa is the only Sub Saharan country selling TM.
Regards
Shayla
-
Welcome - very new TMX country - but hopefully you will be vocal like your rugby and cricket supporters. ;D ;D
-
Currently I am living in White Plains, being of German nationality, born Dutch in South America from Chinese parents, then the country gave me a Suriname passport. So figure, I will be in transition applying for my US citizenship.
-
wowee, i am totally confused now lol
-
Looking forward to some great recipes - maybe carrot and chocolate dumplings stir fired with chimichurri served on hamburger buns?

:D
-
Well I have helped bump WA way above the rest ;D
-
There are quite a few owners in Tassie these days - why don't you get on the poll and increase your numbers. We know there is more than 1 person down there with a TMX. I'm sure SA have more than 6 too.
-
Well I voted even though I am yet to get my TMX so that makes it 20% of us from WA :) either there are lots of us from WA or WA people like to win ;D :D ;) LOL
-

Well, 2 of us have voted so far. Where's the other 'South Islanders' I've been hearing about????
-
This is a message to boost this post so all those new members can vote!
Shayla
-
Bumping again - c'moorrrrrrrrrn Taswegians ;)
-
Interesting to see WA & Qld now both on 19.
-
Uh Oh, Queenslander are in front now. What a pity I've already been counted.
It certainly seems that TMX is really going ahead in Qld. Great news.
-
I'm german, lived in the States , now in Canada. I voted for Canada ;)
-
Good you found this Elli :).
I´m German, live in Germany, want to live in Canada, but that´s a different story (would like to open a B&B with Tebasile 8)).
With me it makes 3 Germans. Where are they?
-
and QLD is now in the lead :o :o :o ok all you West Aussie, if you haven't voted now is the time lol
-
Canada is slooooowly getting ahead :)
What? Haven't heard of Le lièvre et la tortue? ;D
-
I thought the Tassie - ites were going to take over for a while there but obviously they haven't voted lol
-
We do need some more votes from my fellow Tasweigan's - where are you all??? ;D
-
Well, I just voted for Qld and now we're neck and neck with WA! Go Qld! Not that I'm competitive at all, of course!
-
I'm sure you're not Tarah. Come on West Aussies, I'm sure not all of us have voted here. :P
-
hehe I clicked :)
-
:-* :-* :-* :-* Snoozie lol
-
bump bump bump come on you WAers ;D LOL
-
Wow - I don't check for a couple of days and here we are - Qld is one ahead. Go Qld! Great to see a competition I can really get into! :D
-
Wow!! I can't believe QLDers are ahead of WA (the australian home of TMX)!!! I'm so proud to be QLDer right now!! :D ;D LOL
-
I am English but live in Spain. My Thermomix was born in Spain so I guess officially it would have dual nationality but when I see it salsa across the countertop I know it is truly Spanish at heart - I have therefore cut my ties to dear old Blighty and voted for Spain. :)
Lesley
-
Sounds fair to me.
-
I am from Liverpool in England, but have lived in Rockingham, WA for 9 years.

-
Go Queensland! ;D
-
Another vote for Qld. :)
-
Strange that there are only 8 from the UK - do they have an alternate forum or outlet?
-
I live in the USA. And my response to the Poll brought the total living in the USA to 6. Only six... does anyone live in Las Vegas, NV?
-
Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
-
Bumping again after all the new welcomes I have just read through this morning!! I am so far behind on my unread posts after everyone being sick I haven't had a chance to say welcome so will welcome you one and all here!!!
-
Hope you have all come good just in time for Christmas Kathryn :-*
-
Had to change my vote, we've recently moved from Nth Qld to the Hunter Valley, NSW. :D
-
lol won't hurt for this to have a bump and an update anyway ;) ;)
-
Put my vote in for SA!
-
Strange that there are only 8 from the UK - do they have an alternate forum or outlet?
Not that I'm aware of, this appears to be the only dedicated english language forum for thermomix...could be wrong but I haven't found any other one. I'm UK too and voted. ;)
-
Go WA :D ;D :o :-*
-
Another vote for SA!
-
lol im it for france although as much as i promote this site the language barrier is a bit of a problem for most here and the french site is improving all the time but still doesnt come near this forum!
i wonder if there are any other aussies in france that own a thermomix and are members..hrrmmm seriously doubt it lol
:)
-
It would be great if everyone could vote. Only got 213 votes and 2430 members - come on guys!!! :P
-
Another vote for South Australia!
-
Yay for WA! :D

-
I'm sure I voted :-\
-
CC if you have voted, it will have "remove vote" underlined at the bottom of the green box just to the right of the country names ;)
-
I love this poll, i had been wondering where abouts everyone is from. Such interesting mix of people from around the world. Thanks for doing the poll!
-
We should put a link to this in every introductory post. :) Not many votes compared to members.
-
Good idea Nay-nay. Just saw your comment so have now voted. Yay Vic!
-
Yeah - we'll just make sure we keep it from any more Westie's. Mmmwahaha!! ;) ;D
-
lol naynay :)..and im still the only one who has voted for France.. :'(
-
You might be the only forum member from France Frozzie ;) ;)
-
A Queenslander here !!
-
Hey, what's this about keeping it from the Westie's? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
It's called ganging up against a state which has the most members Cookie ;D ;D ;D
-
Yeah it's got to do with 'Tall Poppy Syndrome' - it is alive and well in Australia. ;)
-
Proof is in the pudding :D just look at the numbers WA is way in front lol :-* go westies
-
got to love the east vs west rivalry in oz but also the qld vs nsw and sydney vs melbourne..think they are all alive and well lol :)
-
I need to start upping the QLD vote - given that many have purchased sight unseen as a result of my raving about thermie since last June, getting them to vote should be no problem!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch out all other states in Oz.
-
Go johnro. Lead the Qlders to victory. Can't let the westies put it over us.
-
WOOO HOOO, Go Queensland!!! :D :D :D We're catching up WA, watch out!!! ;D
-
Where are all the Vics ??? :( :( :(

-
Hi, please add country Malaysia. Thnks!
-
why isn't belgium in your poll ? i know at least two belgian forum members :D
-
I wonder if the admins can add them to the poll ... - Karen doesn't get here much now :(
-
Yes I can see that 'other' Asian or 'other' European country could feel a bit offensive. :-[ I guess when Karen made the poll we just didn't forsee just how huge this forum would get!! ;) Sit tight she may see this and amend it. ;)
-
tnx :) i do not think it is so offencive though :) it just helps us to remember that western europe is not the center of the world lol :)
-
I don't think I can/know how. Anyone got any ideas? I don't seem able to get into the actual poll.
-
I think thats because you have already put in where you are cookie. Think I also found that too ;D
-
I can see from the first 2 posts that TMXer amended it for Karen so you must be able to some how - sorry. :-\
-
Another one here from Perth WA ;)
-
Just voted, hadn't seen it before. Proudly TMX-ing in Portugal ;D
-
I am from "other countries" 0.6%. I am unique, I guess! Well at least in this!!!
-
And it doesn't matter where you are from when it comes to the forum as we are all one big family with one major thing in common (Thermomix) ;D
-
Dede,and Food!
-
Dede,and Food!
Oh Yeh :D :D
-
Just *bumping* this for anyone who hasn't filled it in yet :-*
-
With only 354 ppl in the poll the remainder of the forum members must just be a part of cyber space ;D ;D ;D ;D Apart from reminding West
Aliens Oziens ;D in welcome thanks also for bumping this CP (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-dance010.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
-
really? West Aliens - that so cute.. go WA!! Johnro I have been keeping tabs of where people are from and of late we have been trying to verse state upon state (ha ha, thats good and I'm still going to do that), and to be truthful although I would love "our little aliens" to be ever dominating I would really like to see how the forum "pans out" in terms of WORLDWIDE people power. I hope that there are a few Worldwide Lurkers out there who would like to join the forum, but don't join if you are a Worldwide Spammer..mn not good...
-
cold tasmania here!! hopefully not much longer though ;D

Want to bump this thread for our new members. :)

GO WAUSSIES!!

Where I am from and where I live are 2 different answers - wish I could have 2 responses ;)
-
Complicated, born in Holland from an Australian father and a German/Dutch mother but have been in Australia for long enough to call myself Australian so voted west aust. :-)
-
Yay! I'm in WA too
New to the world of Thermomixes (where have I been for the past few years??? living under a rock!!)
but I'm from Canada (that's where I was born and lived for 2/3 of my life so far... but I've been here for the last 1/3)
-
Just found this poll.
I've added 1 more for WA. When is the next party in Perth? There are so many of us here :D :)
-
BZB we will let you know next time we either have a get together( often at Tomato Lake so the children can run around, although that may not be until winter is over) or we have coffee at Garden City. That may be fairly soon!
-
Ok. Will watch out for the meet-ups, cookie :)
-
Many South Africans stalk here but not many announce their presence!
-
Why is that Shayla, perhaps you could encourage them to join. Is there a South African TMX forum?
-
I include a link to this forum in every e-mail I send to prospective purchasers I think they perhaps find "joining" a difficult thing to do! I don't log on as often as I used to but I really appreciate the recipe book comments section. I have your new EDCB and read the review on the Beef Stroganoff so didn't use the sherry vinegar - still prefer the one in the old book.
-
Thanks for replying Shayla.
