This one tastes even better than the first one. It doesn't appear to have much grain in it but some is mashed up when kneaded.
Next one I make will have a wholemeal base with added grain.
I added some of the grain mix to the Roast veggie soup. Will also use it added to salad.
Thanks for nice comments about loaf. Finally settling down and finding time to play with bread.

Thanks for showing us the loafs (I don't think it is loaves as it is only one loaf) insides  Chookie. It looks delicious.

I felt like a veggie hit tonight so I steamed potato, carrot, broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus then poured a cheese sauce over the top.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I cooked the rye SD loaves that I put in the fridge on Sunday. I added a bit of semolina to one and polenta to the other. I will be interested to see if there is any difference between the two.

At the weekend DH made his usual SD loaf.  He enjoys experimenting a bit but this was his normal mix, without any changes - the only difference was that he baked it 'free style' instead of in the loaf tin - and it came out tasting sweet!  Very strange.  Still his usual tasty loaf, just with a sweet 'edge'.

Marina, that is very strange. My SD start that I grew at Invermay is quite different to the Cherokee starter.  It has also taken a year to become strong.
Mab, everyone seems to like the Belgium Lemon Tea cake. Enjoy.
Yesterday I mixed in the TMX, minced veal, pork, water chestnuts, mushrooms, ginger and garlic to make meat balls. I will add these to clear chicken soup with a few greens.

The crumb f the two loaves is slightly different , but I can't discern any difference if flavour.

Diet lunch, veal with mustard spread over and pan fried in a little oil. After I removed veal from pan I added a little water and cooked apple slices. Tipped all into TMX and zapped it. Served with lots of veggies.
