A handy gadget Chookie. Enjoy the puppy, he won't be there much longer will he?

Last night I cooked up a large pot of mixed grains, beans and seeds. I replace 100g of flour with this mix in my No Fuss bread.  Will have to find some other ways to use it as well.

An inaugural Food Fair set up site for two days in fields right behind the lane where I live. DS and I ambled over to have a look. Quite good although a little disappointing that there wasn't really locally produced foods for sale. I wanted to buy local honey and cold pressed rapeseed oil but  I did buy "wet garlic" from the Isle of Wight, Perry Cider and Dry Cured Bacon. I did have a very nice Cappuccino and a Hog Roast Bap with apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing. I could only eat half of it, it was massive :o

CC, these events sometimes take a while to get going. Nice and handy and you did get some goodies.
We are thinking of getting some bee hives. In Ballarat there is a couple who will set them up at your house and fully service them. You pay $250 a year and get a proportion of the honey. About 30 kilos. We are paying about $15 a kilo at the moment.

CC I hope your local a Food Fair continues to grow, 'tis always nice to stroll around and see what's on offer.
Chookie, I think that deal with the Beehives is great! And to get fresh raw honey for yourselves is a good thing. We all need bees.

How convenient to have a food fair that close to your house Denise, you did well with the goodies you did buy.
Go for it Chookie, it's an offer too good to refuse.

Denise that sounds fun, especially being so close.
Chookie I'd love to have fresh honey on tap!  One of the guys I worked with had hives and offered to help me set up, unfortunately DH has had some bad reactions to be stings so I thought it wise not to do it.

Chookie, I like the sound of the bee hives and would love to have some, but wedon't really go through much honey are only a small property so probably wouldn't work, which is a shame as we need to encourage as many bees as we can.

This isn't really what we have been doing today, but on Friday night all of our staff went to a concert by a quartet called FourPlay and it was brilliant.  They were far from a conventional string quartet and the concert was incredibly vibrant and very exciting.  I didn't think I would like it, but they held me, and everyone else in the audience, spellbound for the entire time.

About to go shopping for weekly supplies.
Now I can see what I have because of the new drawers, I won't have to buy much. Trying the $100 a week programme.
