« on: September 13, 2010, 11:35:19 am »
Ingredients:
170g butter
135g raw sugar
2 eggs
225g Plain flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon mixed spice
800g can unsweetened pie-apple
2 tablespoons sugar, extra

Method:
Preheat oven to 180oC. Grease and line 7in x 11in tin.
Put sugar in TM bowl for 4 secs, Speed 9.
Add butter and mix until creamed. (Maybe 1 min, Speed 5)
Stir in eggs, flour and spices for 30 secs, Speed 5 until combined.
Spread half the mixture over the base of the tin.
Now spread the apple evenly over the base mix, sprinkle with extra sugar.
Spread remaining cake mixture evenly over the apple.
Bake in oven for 50 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes in tin, before turning to wire rack to cool.
Sprinkle the top with icing sugar, and serve with a dollop of cream.

CP63,  this is a terrific recipe and one that i used to make a lot.  I would use cooked apple, without too much water and still a bit lumpy.  Thanks so much for converting.

Thanks CP63. Apple slice is always a favourite.
