Are you buying another van Margaret?

We had a car run today. It was another early morning one. We had to be out at Cottesloe beach between 7.30-8 am. We then went to King's Park and drove through it ( twice! We all got a bit confused with the instructions) then on to a park down by the river for our meeting and morning tea. It was extremely pleasant.

No Cookie we won't be buying another van.  DH feels he is at the end of his towing days and I have never towed the van so we will now stay in cabins.

At least your holidays aren't over Margaret, cabins are roomy and very nice to stay in.

They definitely are lovely to stay in Margaret. This will be our last van, hopefully a motorhome after this, or cabins like you.

Judy I hope your roof renovations go well.

Margaret our towing days are also over. We loved our hols in the van. We still enjoy our holidays staying in cheap motels or cabins . Usually can afford one luxury stay.
Have finished packing all the delicates. We have carted them ourselves to Invermay. The carrier can take the big stuff. 4 fountains and 10 large pots as well as furniture. Next Wednesday for the carrier. Forgot to mention the 60 wine boxes of books.

Books are VIP's. I think they have taken over our house. Because DD has a book blog that is recognised by several publishers she receives a lot o f books to review well before they are published. I don't complain.

How on earth does she find the time to manage to read them all??

She doesn't Marina. She is a fast reader and if she gets too far behind has been known to skim a book. She spends a fair amount of time reading, fortunately not every book she is sent has to be reviewed. I think a couple of publishers just send her books. They send a list every 6 months or so and she can select what she would like to read and or review.
She has been given quite an honour in early May. An author that she has become friends with and who lives in the Perth hills has asked her to launch her latest book.

That's very special, Cookie.  She must be excited and perhaps a bit nervous about that!

Cookie, that is quite something that DD has been asked to launch a book. Congratulations.
We do have to do something about the books. At the moment all are being packed and we know several charities who sell books so this is where a lot will go.
We are working with a local craftsman in Ballarat who is going to build some book shelves.

We are given quite a lot of books and after they have been read, mostly by DH, we give them to a local fire brigade who have a big book sale every year to raise funds.

Books galore Chookie, they're not all cookbooks I presume.  It sounds as if you're progressing well at Cherokee.
Congratulations to your DD cookie, they must think very highly of her.

DD was quite thrilled, I think it is because she is good friends with the author. She won't be nervous, she gives lectures and webinars for work. Who would have believed it as she was very shy growing up.
Mum and Dad are very proud of her.

We try to give our books away after we have read them, unless they have been signed by the author. Usually to friends or book stalls. I always take some into my book club as they are like new. Car club readers cop them too.
