I always use a peeler, I tried using a knife at one stage and found that I had very little potato left by the time I had finished removing the peel!

Potatoes can be odd shapes cookie and it's fiddly turning and peeling whereas a carrot you just run the peeler down as you turn.  It's probably just me but I find a knife quicker and easier.

That's interesting Judy. You could certainly make the soup. Is there a particular reason you don't use a vegie peeler on potatoes?
