Time for shopping and cooking now Chookie, how good is that.  Enjoy the company of your family whilst they're waiting for their new house.

Cookie, can you squeeze in a small slow cooker. You could then make plain bread and fruit bread.

Morning all.
CC, thanks for the beautiful photos.
Bluebells and snow, cold but lovely. Any Snowdrops?
We have had lots of rain over the last few days.
Off to Ballarat to do some shopping for small things.
Had Dinner with DD and GC last night. DD has sold her house and bought another. There is a gap of about 6 weeks so they are shifting in with us. They will be self contained in the ' B and B wing ', but will eat dinner with us.

Sounds like not enough water. Look through the hole in lid after 2 minutes, and if the dough is not clumping together add more water,
. A tablespoon at a time.
During summer or if using wholemeal flour I add at least 2 tablespoons more water.
You may then need to knead for an extra minute.
It is better to have a wetter dough than a too dry one.
Good luck musicalmummy.
Keep us posted and keep asking for help.

Marina. I thoroughly agree. When we designed the house at Cherokee we built in lots of storage. We like drawers better than cupboards. Really missing these drawers. I think that under bench storage should be drawers.

Good morning everyone, a bit windy and occasionally wet here this morning.
I thought it would be warming up a bit by now over there Denise.

Gosh, you are going from one extreme to the other, CC.  The photos are lovely, I do so love the English countryside and am envious of where you live.

Ah, yes, bookshelves ... another thing to go on my list for the renovation (I had forgotten about them).  One thing I am really pushing is incorporating storage cupboards, I notice modern houses don't seem to have much in the way of storage space and that drives me batty!
