I have just read that it is Shrove Tuesday ... so, here (https://www.babycentre.co.uk/blog/life_and_home/32-pancakes-youll-flip-over-this-pancake-day/) is a list of 30 odd pancakes which I picked up on today.

We were talking about Shrove Tuesday at the nursing home today Marina, I've never had a pancake on this day in my life so next Tuesday I might just go along earlier than usual and have one with the residents myself.

I wasn't sure if it was this Tuesday or next. I did mean to check it. I often made pancakes for dessert on Shrove Tuesday. Not for any particular reason, just that it seemed a good day to have them.

It looks like I may have got the week for Shrove Tuesday wrong, sorry about that, but looking on the bright side, it gives us some extra days to practice our pancake making before the 'actual' day!

Exactly right Marina, I normally don't know the day until it suddenly appears so there's no time to even think about it. As it turns out I'll be having a day at home next Tuesday as a couple of tradespeople are coming to look at 2 different problems I have. Looks like I will have to make my own pancakes so I must get myself prepared and decide what type I'm going to make.

Confession time ... I CANNOT make pancakes - I either undercook them or overcook them or completely ruin them in some other way and ALWAYS end up dumping them!
